Portable ice makers use about 230 watts of electricity to start up, and consistently use about 100 watts while they are running. To make some delicious ice in your brand new portable ice maker is easy. All you have to do is first plug the ice maker in, and then select the size. There are three sizes to choose from: small, medium, and large. In order to select the size all you have to do is tap one button. The sizes go in order on the machine, so it starts at small, one tap to medium, another tap to large, and another tap back to small. Very straight forward.

After selecting the size of the ice you would like to be produced the next step is to lift up the ice basket and fill the reservoir with water. It can hold up to approximately one gallon of water at once. The ice machine senses when the water is all gone, so it knows when to shut itself off.

After filling the water reservoir you press the one switch and then all you have to do is wait a short six to ten minutes. After the time is up nine ice cubes (twelve in some higher end models) should be produced and they will fall into the removable ice basket, then another nine will come, and then another nine, and  so on. As mentioned, the tabletop ice cube maker has a sensor, so it knows when to shut itself off. Because of this, you are able to keep the compact ice machine running for however long you would like to. You never have to shut it off.

Note: The ice basket is NOT a refrigerator or freezer! The ice will melt and that water will instantly drop into the reservoir. The water will then recycle to produce more ice.

If you would like to, you can always put the ice produced into a Ziploc baggie and into the freezer, that way you always have ice on hand! If you do not like the thought of recycled water, there is also an easy to access drain on the side of the machine. All you do is set it next to the sink and screw off the cap and all of the water from the reservoir  pours out into the sink. Below is a video showing the steps to using your ice cube making machine!
